4 Points for Selling Value Over Price

Price seems to be what MOST people talk about, but there are some real hot points for 4 points for selling value over price. In fact, I’m going to tell you that they aren’t hot points as much as they are “make sense points”.

Deep down, people want to be sold. Buying makes people feel powerful, and as if for a moment in time they have total control. They do, even if they don’t realize it yet.

However, what you may not know is what people are really thinking. People are always thinking about what they are really getting for the money they spend.

When you own your own business, and I do, you constantly think of ways to get your ideal buyer to choose you over the competition.

Here’s the good news; you can get them to choose you every time, if you give them a ton of VALUE. You can get prospects that are focused on your price AWAY from that whole mess.

4 Points for Selling Value Over Price (You just gotta do one thing.)

Draw attention to what matters most. Today, I’ll share those hot points with you so that you’re always selling value over price!

How to Start Selling Value Over Price

Let’s get one thing straight; without your customers you wouldn’t have any income. It’s that simple. So, doesn’t it make sense to focus on them?

  1. It’s all about them. Your focus should shift from product to customer. Listen to them talk, and let them tell you about their life. Once you give them the floor, you’ll have everything you need to sell your product. Keep this in perspective. It’s about listening first, and then building a case for what you are offering. Build rapport!
  2. Let your prospect define the value. Every person has a reason that they value what they purchase. This means that they will tell you how valuable your product or service is to them if you ask the right questions. You don’t need to give them the laundry list of why your product or service is so valuable. Let them tell you!
  3. Have conversations that hold value. Did you know that the more someone talks the harder it is to take them seriously? One of the foundational principles of selling value over price is that you not only listen, but you have a real conversation with your prospect. If you start selling them from the very beginning, they won’t want to listen to you. You’ll be perceived as desperate and pushy. Have a conversation with them, and give them time to share all of the reasons with you that they truly want and need what you have to offer.
  4. Be the problem solver. Solving problems is the key to earning money. At least, where I come from this is true. It’s ALWAYS true! People don’t buy something that doesn’t really solve a problem. You may buy a cheeseburger because it sounds good, but you’re hungry. So, it solves the problem. If you aren’t hungry, you are less inclined to buy food. Would you agree? Solving problems always wins the day. Be a problem solver!

Building a business is easy if you know what problems pain the world the most. Seek to solve problems at every turn, and you’ll be able to build a business that can sustain itself and more.

Just remember, that no matter what, you should always direct your focus to selling value over price if you want to win your prospects over.

It’s a win-win when you choose to leverage a blog to help drive traffic to your website.
  2. Call agent. Did you know that there are several companies that will allow you to work from home? Some will have set hours, but many offer starting pay around $9 or more depending. Some of the larger companies offer benefits as well, and they will let you know what requirements they have for your computer to get everything set up. 3. Appointment setter. This is similar to being a call agent, but you’re setting appointments for others. There are some Realtors that use this model, and they are looking for part-time individuals. This is great for the mom who wants to work from home.
  4. Web Design. This falls in line with freelancing, but if you’re a web developer, you’re work is just a second away. More companies are looking for someone to redo their sites for them, and they often look for someone that they can hire that will focus on them only. 5 Big Trends for Small Business in 2016

Trends are called trends because they are always changing, and that means that there are new trends for small business in 2016.

The one thing you’ll see more of is folks starting their own business. Those who want and need to earn income are trying to find work in every way imaginable. Does this mean that success is certain for these folks?

While not everyone is cut out for entrepreneurship, it’s vital that any small business owner making a real go of it knows the ropes.

What are the new rules in 2016?

5 Big Trends for Small Business in 2016 to Look for

While there are tons of trends for small business in 2016 to look at closely, you’ll want to look at these things a little differently this time around.

The way we conduct business is so different than it was even 10 years ago, and more individuals are working independently.

With jobs numbers at an all-time low, it pays to look deeper into how you can start a business working from home.

Here are some important trends for small business in 2016.

  1. Freelancers will need to step up. There are tons of folks running around calling themselves freelancers, but do they run a viable business? The FTC pays close attention to how freelance individuals conduct themselves, and the government is also paying close attention to the self-employment for tax purposes. Some may view picking up gigs part-time as a way to hide their income, but the government will make sure that these individuals are accountable to their clients and to the IRS.
  2. Security is more important. Whether or not your business is small, you need ample security. Just because you are small doesn’t mean that your security is a small matter. Spare no expense to protect yourself.
  3. All things mobile, so go with it. Mobile apps are just the icing on the cake, but we all know that if we don’t use them we could suffer big time. Banking is now being done by mobile apps, and shopping is more frequently done on mobile apps versus computer. The world is mobile, and it’s important to recognize it before things change again.
  4. Business continues to change. The world of business evolves constantly, it’s just a matter of you keeping up. If you were to look at a chart of groups of people to find out who is doing what, you’ll see that millennials are the individuals starting businesses. This is why it’s important that you recognize what’s happening around you and who’s making the changes. The freshest face is probably presenting the freshest ideas.
  5. Do you Uber? Uber is a total hit in this economy, and it’s mainly because anyone can do it. More individuals are doing without cars, and this means they need a ride to the grocery store, to the library, to the doctor, and anywhere else they want to go. Uber ended up solving two problems, which makes it a real hit. It’s great that drivers can make money with it, and it’s a viable service. Housekeeping service is quickly becoming an Uber style option too. What’s next?

There is a whole new world out there when it comes to small business, but more than that it’s about finding new and innovative ways to work.

If you have insight into other trends for small business in 2016, comment below and share with me what you would like to see happen this year.

Healthcare Changes for 2016

Costs are rising, so this also means that there are healthcare changes for 2016. It shouldn’t be surprising, with the opening up of more Urgent Care centers and Emergency Care centers.

The price of prescriptions is going up, along with medical costs in general. The push for telemedicine is here, where you can use an app to get a doctor on the phone and give them your symptoms. What is the world coming to?

A modern, digital world is the world that is changing in other ways. There are more changes coming this year, although we thought what changed in 2015 was bad, it’s not going to get any easier in 2016.

Today, as you continue to think about how you can manage your healthcare costs better, I’m going to share with you what healthcare changes for 2016 look like, and what you can do to better prepare.

The Latest Healthcare Changes for 2016

One thing you can count on is healthcare falling prey to politics. There’s no doubt a lot of garbage running down the pipe during an election year. The worst part, is that you don’t know who to believe.

New technology means more expenses, and it also means that doctors have to learn how to use it, and you’re the guinea pig. (Good news right?J)

However, you’ll see that there are 5 main healthcare changes for 2016 that you’ll see.

  1. Drug prices are going up. If you get prescriptions on a regular basis, you’ve noticed this. The one big push for politics is finding a solution to control the price of prescription drugs. Drugs that have popular brands have increased steadily since 2006. It’s safe to say that inflation occurs in healthcare as well as anywhere else. Some companies are saying that if they can’t charge more, they may be forced to slow down their research to create new and better drugs.
  2. Healthcare companies will continue to merge. Mergers have become commonplace for insurance companies. This includes insurance companies as well as drug companies. Anthem put up the offer to buy Cigna, and pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has been seeking out to make a purchase of their own as well. Consolidation may appear trendy at first, but once you do the research, you’ll see that it’s common in healthcare since the launch of Obamacare.
  3. Patients get care based upon convenience. As the cost of healthcare continues to soar, patients are looking for ways to save more money. This means not going to the doctor’s office and using their smartphones to contact a doctor on call using the new Teladoc app. Basic needs call for basic measures to keep costs low. Rainy day or a blizzard? You can still talk to a doctor just by using Teladoc. It’s so simple. Getting a doctor via an app isn’t the only thing you can do. You can hook up an EKG with it too. Amazing eh?
  4. Cybersecurity is the first priority for these insurers. You already know that security has been a big issue, but you should know that IT companies are pushing for cybersecurity classes. Insurers aren’t the only ones that should be concerned about their security. Security will also be important for your devices as well. There’s no way around getting the security you need in 2016. Just make sure that you take the necessary measures to protect any devices you have.
  5. Political agendas will ALWAYS exist. One way or another, healthcare will still remain political. President Obama still has more time in office, and he veto’s anything that hits his desk to make changes. One this is clear; some of the healthcare taxes may be reduced, as both parties continue to NOT favor it so much. Whether or not it will get changed this year is yet to be seen, but it’s still a big deal.

Healthcare is a sore issue for many still, but there will still be many healthcare changes in 2016.

What are your thoughts on this?

Why Outsourcing is Important for Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs are guilty of believing that they can do it all, but you should know that outsourcing is important for entrepreneurs.

You may set up your business on your own in the beginning, but you should also be honest with yourself about the tasks you aren’t fond of handling.

Furthermore, you won’t have the time to handle everything when you launch your business. If you have been handling everything, then it’s time for you to be realistic about the time you have available.

Bookkeeping, copywriting, sales calls, and meetings are all on the table, so who does it all? You can’t. This is why it’s important to learn how to outsource, and how to find the right people.

Today, I’m sharing why outsourcing is important for entrepreneurs, and how you can make it work for your business starting right now.

Outsourcing is Important for Entrepreneurs from Day One

As a business owner, there is a lot to be done.

You have to admit from the beginning that you can’t do it all. It’s not always easy to admit that, but your success will depend on this.

Technology has changed the way we do business and connect with other people which means it’s easier and less expensive than it used to be.

Digital marketing has made it easy for individuals to find work as well as for business owners to look for the right fit when they need the job done.

Have you had this experience yet?

If you haven’t, don’t feel bad. A lot of entrepreneurs are trying to catch up to the current times and what works. Here are a few tips for you as an entrepreneur.

  1. Save yourself some money. As a business owner, it’s important that you keep your overhead down. This is why hiring subcontractors is important. You don’t have the burden of payroll taxes and health insurance, and you can find contractors from any line of work possible.
  2. Give yourself some time to find someone. When you need help, don’t leave your work to the last minute. Give yourself ample time to find the right individuals to work with, so that you can meet your deadlines, and give your outsourcers time to meet theirs as well.
  3. Know your limits. It’s important that you know your limits. This will tell you when to outsource. Only you know how much you can do before you have to outsource. Cut yourself some slack too, you can’t do it all. If you are under stress then it’s time for you to outsource so you don’t have further backlog.
  4. Lose control. Literally, you need to lose control. When you feel the need to control everything it will make it very difficult for you to focus and get things done. You won’t know whether or not you can trust someone to get something done for you unless you give them a shot. Remember, you need to be fair to yourself too.

You don’t have to build your business alone, and you won’t have to outsource every day. The points above are important, but keep in mind that you can only outsource as much as your budget allows initially.

You’ll do great, but this is why it’s important that you know why outsourcing is important for entrepreneurs.

Major Problems with the ACA that May Make You Angry

Problems with the ACA that May Make You Angry. The Affordable Care Act is still confusing for many Americans.

The need is urgent for changes, and although it’s tough to say what they should be what we have now isn’t working.

Ultimately, it would be great if a solution came down the pike that was bi-partisan, but until then there isn’t time to waste on getting Americans the healthcare they need.

If the goal is to cut costs on healthcare, what is being done to ensure that everyone will have access to it? Will the elderly and those with terminal illness be able to get the medicines and therapies they need without a ton of out of pocket expense?

Today, I’ll share some major issues with you that haunt the ACA, and what needs to change to ensure that people get what they need to ensure good health.

Problems with the ACA that May Make You Angry

If you want to know what problems we face as a country, start with the healthcare system. We are essentially trapped in a situation where the sick will most likely get worse, and those with terminal illness will die.

Here’s why.

  1. The impossible mandate. Healthcare cost did need to go down, there’s no question about it. However, the way it was handled wasn’t quite right. What we are spending on healthcare is outrageous, and at best the only way to manage it is to let the cost go up for the patient. In other words, out of pocket expenses are out of control. The money is going out faster than we are bringing it in, but the ACA wasn’t the root of the problem. The problem however is that ACA limits our ability to make changes as they are needed.
  2. Subsidies are not working. Medicaid is available to people that really need it, but is it fair that a family of four can get the benefits of Medicaid, when an individual working at a hotel with the same income has to buy an expensive family plan? It doesn’t seem to make much sense does it? There are also incentives for small businesses to refrain from expanding. Expansion and growth is generally the ultimate goal for a small business. The way that insurance plans are made available, and penalties, it seems that subsidies are NOT working. Your thoughts?
  3. Insurers are the ones that have the incentives. Out of the 6 major problems with the ACA, this is the one that tops them all. Insurers get the benefits rather than the insured. Insurers are charging the same premiums now regardless of the status of the policy holder. There is no longer a high risk policy premium, which means those who aren’t high risk are still paying the higher premium. Insurers are also able to do whatever it takes to attract a healthier crowd, which means it’s discrimination, but it’s wrapped up in a pretty package. The package doesn’t look so pretty anymore does it?
  4. Other incentives for the insurers. Although there is a fine for not carrying insurance, the fine is relatively low. The government recently released a statement that nearly 90% of people will be exempt from this mandate in 2016. What’s the point? This is when it appears that our President and the administration have wasted a lot of money pulling something together only to do away with it later.
  5. Lack of access to care. Access to care should never change, but when those who didn’t have insurance get it, they want to get everything take care of that they can think of. There is no trend showing that more doctor’s visits have been made, but one thing that has changed is the wait time to see a doctor. It seems that a waiting period of nearly two to three months is the norm now, and that used to be normal ONLY for specialists. Now it’s just the norm.
  6. Cost of the ACA at the expense of Medicare. Did you know that Medicare has been cut? When elderly need the coverage more than ever, now it’s taking a turn for the worst. A medical device tax is now a burden for these folks, and they are losing the benefits they once relied on heavily for their increasing medical needs. Aren’t the elderly our greatest source of wisdom and hope?

There are many reasons that healthcare needs reform, but what we’ve done so far isn’t working. There has to be a better way. While I don’t know what it is, I’ll urge you to consider that these 6 major problems with the ACA are only going to continue to be a problem until someone new makes some changes.

Network Marketing Works in 2016

If you recently joined a network marketing company, it’s important to learn network marketing works in 2016.

Even if you have no prior experience, you can be wildly successful in your new career in network marketing.

There is an OLD way, and there is a NEW way. Both ways can work, depending on what you’ve been taught! Network marketing is all about good teaching, training, and giving good information.

If you have these in your lineup, you can achieve your goals and have the success you desire. How can you make network marketing work for you?

Today, I’ll be sharing how network marketing works, and how you can turn your business into a long-term money making machine.

Network Marketing Works in 2016

It has been said that network marketing only works for a small number of people. This is true, but it’s true because a small number of people are willing to jump in and do the work.

Network marketing is a business……not a hobby.

Here is what I can tell you about how network marketing works.

  1. Sharing with others how something has helped you OR others is always a key component of whether or not people even want to listen to you. You can’t push a business opportunity as a money maker. First, you create value, and then you can build relationships. People ONLY buy from others that they know, like, and trust. If someone couldn’t prove to you that a product worked, would you sign up? The answer is a resounding NO.
  2. Be approachable. The only way to build relationships is to make yourself approachable. Let those who join you in your business know that you’re there to help them grow their business and that you can help them with their marketing efforts. Any skills you have should be passed onto those you sponsor.
  3. Leverage the internet. You should already know this, but leveraging the internet is the best way to reach the masses. You can share valuable information with others, and you use social media as an easy way to engage with those who are following you. There are tons of ways to build your business online, but you have to spend some time learning the necessary skills to do it.

You can coach others, but you’ll need your own coach. It’s important that you talk to others about what matters most to them. If you don’t find out, you won’t be able to help them.

Helping others is easy, but it’s important to give them the help they really need. It’s important that you are productive with your time, and use every ounce of time you have to better yourself.

If you are ready to learn more about how network marketing works, shoot me a quick email, and I’ll be able to give you some insight into my most powerful marketing tools.

How Rising Healthcare Cost is Killing Americans

Rising healthcare cost is killing Americans. The main word involved in conversations about healthcare is “stress”. While Obamacare promised to reduce the cost of healthcare, it seems that it’s just continued to go up.

Inflation is actually slower than the cost of healthcare. That’s a fact.

Think about when the demand for something is there. The price goes up when supply is short, right? The same applies when you are talking about healthcare.

There are several considerations to make when you are talking about the cost of healthcare, and those considerations are critical points of interest.

Today, I’m going to tell you what those considerations are and what you need to know about your health insurance as you choose an employer and a healthcare policy.

Rising Healthcare Cost is Killing Americans

What do you think of when you hear “cost of healthcare”?

You might say, President Obama, but you might also say “stress!” I get it. I’m a veteran, and I have folks asking me if I am getting the care I was promised amid the scandal with Veterans Affairs last year.

There are always problems in an imperfect world…..BUT…..

Keep in mind that healthcare is never the same for any two people. Insurance companies aren’t entirely happy, and most of all patients are unhappy too.

Here are some facts I’ve found.

  1. Journal of the American Medical Association. Rising costs of healthcare are due to increase in the price of medications, medical devices and hospital care. This started in 2013, and as a result is has continued to increase.
  2. Medical device tax. When this was implemented, it meant that more folks would have to come up with more money out of pocket. This applies mostly to the elderly folks, but not everyone that needs a medical device is elderly.
  3. Insurance isn’t innovative. Think about the fact that insurance meets very basic needs for most people. This means low co-pays in most cases, preventative care, and the payout of a certain percentage. Again, this isn’t true for everyone, but there is no room for innovation when it comes to the insurance. Just the medicine. That’s it.
  4. Premiums increase but income does not. Most companies no longer offer merit raises, and they often put limitations on vacation time and how employees can use it. It makes no sense that healthcare continues to get more expensive, but yet the employee can no longer afford it. Does that make sense? Not really.

Healthcare is still a mystery to many, and as a veteran I don’t know the ins and outs of how these policies work.

I get coverage, and although the system I am a part of isn’t perfect, right now I don’t have to pay for my care. Who knows, maybe that will change too.

Until we know what is next, don’t focus on the negative. Continue to focus on what you can do, and how you can take care of your family one day at a time.

There isn’t anything that will change it for you in the next ten minutes, so give yourself a break. Rising healthcare cost is killing Americans, and hopefully new leadership can bring us good news.

How Business Has Changed in the Last 10 Years

How Business has changed in the last 10 years, and the changes were for the better. You’ll still find some folks that will disagree, but keep in mind that progress is what Americans have always been striving for.

There are tons of considerations to be made, most of which refer to digital marketing. Newspaper no longer exists, and social media is engaging people around the world to discuss the issues of the day.

What’s even more important is that content creation and content marketing are the linchpin of all businesses.

Content still drives the traffic to your website, and there is much to be said for various types of content marketing. What’s even more important? How frequently your content is shared and where it is shared.

Today, I’ll share with you how business has changed in the last 10 years, and whether or not you should consider another avenue for your business.

Understanding How Business Changed in the Last 10 Years

Business is always changing, but the biggest changes have happened over the last 10 years. Most of these changes have ousted newspaper, and increased the usage of internet.

This means that this has even changed how we use the internet.

Because businesses are now doing most of their daily operations with the help of the internet and e-commerce, most companies have been able to cut their costs dramatically.

This also means that jobs have been cut, but this also means that the drive for people to become entrepreneurs is greater.

Some of the most successful entrepreneurs have launched their business ideas online without hesitation. This means that they have:

  1. Started a basic website. Whether it was a free site from WordPress or even using WYSIWYG, most folks didn’t start out with the nicest website on the planet. It’s okay to start small. The Bible says not to despise small beginnings, and that’s the truth! Mark Cuban was flat broke when he developed his software. He started small, but look where he is today?
  2. Started a blog. Did you know that a blog is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your website? This isn’t just for being silly or talking about what you did on Saturday night. A blog has become the hub of the wheel for most companies. Blogs are now used to share valuable information with a company’s target audience, and it’s designed to drive traffic to their website thus increasing sales and revenue. That’s the best part right?
  3. Used social media as a way to engage their audience. Did you know that businesses that use a real social media strategy are the most successful? A business cannot grow without a customer base. This means that social media is essential for starting a conversation, and getting customers on board by building a relationship.

There are so many things that you can utilize online to help you build your business, but make sure that you start basic. Build your business over time, and you’ll be better off financially as you can put money back into your business for marketing.

Understanding how business has changed in the last 10 years is essential to understanding what it now takes to build a business that is successful!

What are your thoughts?
