Why You Should Still Learn SEO

SEO can be overwhelming, especially if you research “how to learn SEO”. Google can kick back any number of queries, most of which you won’t understand until you’ve worked with SEO a bit.

There are tons of businesses that talk about best practices for business, and there are tons of things you’ll come across regarding how to drive more traffic to your website too.

It could take you days, weeks, months, or even a few years to really learn more about what it takes to use SEO properly. Is there really a magic formula for SEO?

Today, I’ll shed some light on how you can begin to learn SEO, and how you can put it to good use for any business.

Learn SEO and How to Use it for Link Building

Getting backlinks to your website is the primary reason that you need to learn SEO. SEO isn’t just about keywords, it’s also about making sure that Google has favorably stamped your identity in the algorithm as a trustworthy website and resource.

You absolutely must learn and understand link building, and how to drive more traffic to your website as you build backlinks.

There are tons of myths about getting backlinks and how they work, thus leaving everyone frustrated and with very little money in their pockets once it’s all said and done.

You’ll still want to focus on learning social media, and how to use it for the purpose of engagement, but SEO and back linking mean so much more.

Recent research shows that:

  1. Backlinks are still the priority. Did you know that backlinks are still the number one way to get rankings and get them fast? Recently, Brian Dean from Backlinko, conducted research using 20 different methods to find out what works and what does not work. Getting backlinks from various domains is the key to getting ranked. Essentially, the more votes you get from outside sources, the faster and higher you’ll rank.
  2. Stay away from bounces. Did you know that your website has a high bounce rate this can affect your ability to rank well? This means that when someone comes to your website and they quickly leave, they are bouncing away. The higher the bounce rate the lower your ranking.
  3. Focus on writing longform content. One of the worst things you can do is write fluff and filler content on your website. This is why long form content rules, and it will easily help you rank. Remember, while some readers only want short, sweet, and to the point, they probably aren’t your reader or your buyer. If you want to attract a buyer that is interested in what you’re doing, and you want to provide them with sound information, then you should focus on writing long form content. Share tons of valuable information as well as valuable data. You’ll leave them wanting more.

There are many aspects of ranking in Google, but most of all, consider that writing valuable content that your audience can use and share will far outweigh the benefits of any other marketing method you could use. It’s beneficial to learn SEO!
