Have you been trying to figure out content marketing to attract prospects?

One of the easiest ways to recruit prospects is with solid content. This doesn’t mean just written content but video and other mediums used to market to your audience.

There are numerous ways you can attract new prospects to your business and get them to buy. Today, I’m going to share with you the 3 types of content marketing to attract prospects without breaking the bank.

I’ll share with you how you can do this inexpensively as well as how you can do it effectively regardless of the sources you choose.

Producing the Right Content Marketing to Attract Prospects

Some home business owners believe that their only solution to attracting prospects is to chase after friends and family. This isn’t true at all.

The best and easiest way to do this is by using targeted content. What does this mean?

Content becomes targeted when you write it for YOUR audience.  There are certain types you’ll discover that you can rely on because they provide such tremendous value for your audience.

  1. Educational site/resource. Did you know that educating your customer is the best way to their heart? I prefer to use the word “audience” so that we can refer to who you are selling to as a whole. An educational site or resource for your audience will reap you tremendous rewards because it is a great way to add value to everything you do. Educating the consumer on your product or service is the best and easiest way to attract prospects. A blog or an educational site where there is a library of information will ALWAYS win the day.
  2. Publish an EBook. There are numerous ways that you can use EBooks to aid in building your business. One of the easiest ways to position yourself as an expert in the industry is to write an EBook. It doesn’t have to be long, and it can be a resource that answers the most common questions about your product or service. Depending upon the type of business you have, you may also want to share your biography and tell your story to inspire others. Your story matters, and as long as you are putting the needs of your audience first, you cannot go wrong.
  3. Interviews/podcasts. There are numerous ways to do this too. You can get others to conduct interviews with you on You Tube as well as with podcasts. The more of these that you do you never know where they will lead to. You can share the videos using all of the various social media channels. These social media platforms are the most beneficial tools that you can use to help you grow your business and attract your ideal prospects. Allow potential customers to interview you, and don’t be afraid to answer questions. Ask individuals that wish to meet with you if they are okay with you recording the conversation. Anything like this that you can use to help your audience learn more about what you do is helpful and ultimately, it will be the content marketing to attract prospects that you need.

What else should you keep in mind when creating content?

Content Marketing to Attract Prospects Now and in the Future

Content is a key component of generating leads and driving traffic to your website.

Consider creating an editorial calendar for yourself and organizing your content into an order that makes sense. One of the additional steps is the marketing of your content.

Content marketing to attract prospects means pulling out all of the stops to make it happen. If you write great articles, create interesting videos or podcasts, no one will know about them unless they find them by accident.

Marketing the content you produce is just as important as putting it out there for all to see.

Your audience is everything, and because of them you have a business. If you want to increase your traffic and ultimately your sales, focus on “content marketing to attract prospects” that consume your content and also share it.

5 Social Media Mistakes You Make in Business

prospects on social media

Are you making some social media mistakes with your business page?

Social media is somewhat of a science. The best way to know what works for your audience is to try different things. If you aren’t doing anything then you have already identified the biggest mistake.

If you are a professional you’ll want to continue to learn.

Those of you who have considered this a hobby won’t take it seriously. Learning more about social media means taking part in case studies, so that you are willing to learn more about different ways of using it.

Everyone’s target audience is different, and everyone’s product is different. Today, I am going to share with you how you can stop making the most common social media mistakes.

I’ll tell you what I did, how I did it, and I’ll share some other amazing tips with you at the end.

The Most Common Social Media Mistakes

What are the most common mistakes businesses make using social media? These can be easy to overlook but you probably have no idea that these are methods that don’t work.

  1. Not having a page. Did you know that the most common mistake business owners make is NOT having a business page? The cardinal sin is NOT even attempting to use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. There are numerous ways to connect with your audience, but social media is the best and easiest ways. It is also the least expensive way! It’s also wise to invite those you do know to help you gain a bit of social proof right off the bat.
  2. Be clear about what you do. Putting up a page is great, but once you do this, you MUST be clear about what you do. How can you benefit your customer? Don’t be vague. Always tell folks how you can help them. Putting up a page with your business name is NOT enough. The same is true if you open a store in the mall. If you open up the store, a few people may know once they walk past you. Unless you make a statement through marketing no one will know you are there. The same is true of your Facebook page. Start out by being clear about what you do and how you can benefit your customer, then….
  3. Market yourself. Okay okay, I know it’s about money when you are starting out. So, the most inexpensive way to get going is to utilize Facebook ads. You could spend money 10 million different ways, but with Facebook you can spend less and get more eyeballs on you. One of the biggest social media mistakes business owners make, is they fail to market their Facebook page. Everyone logs onto Facebook at different times throughout the day, so there is no guarantee that they will see your page. You should also use other social media platforms to drive traffic to your Facebook page. Always share your social media links through the other channels you are using.
  4. Create a group on Facebook. There is no better way to get started than by creating a group.  When you create a group you create a place of support and encouragement for all who join the group. You also position yourself as an expert. Keep the group active, not just with status updates. This requires you to make it real and keep it real, all while building your portfolio and positioning yourself as an expert. Don’t wait on this. It’s stellar!
  5. Ask your audience questions. If you aren’t asking your audience questions, you’ll never hear them talk. People love to talk about themselves. One of the biggest social media mistakes business owners make is not letting their audience talk. Instead, they are always talking. You can easily engage your audience by asking them specific questions so that they have to answer. This gets them talking and now you become the listener.

There is no better way to attract prospects and build your business than through the use of social media. These “social media mistakes” are a great way to get feedback and learn what not to do!

Are You a Pro or an Amateur?

Do you consider yourself a pro or an amateur?

Being a pro means that you become one. Someone who is an amateur will put things off and NEVER really take action.

Those who want to excel will constantly work on their craft and find ways to get better at what they do. They will also study those who are successful and will emulate what they are doing so they too can find success.

There is still something you may be missing. What is it?

Today, I’ll share with you what on earth makes the difference between those that are pro or an amateur.

Taking the Stand of Whether You are a Pro or an Amateur

There is a long list of things that separate the pro from the amateur, but some of the things that you should add to the list may surprise you.

How can you tell if you are a pro or an amateur?

  1. Self-awareness. Ah, this may not be so clear for you. This is all about being very aware of who you are. Once you know who you are you’ll know exactly what to do. Us creative types who like to write and focus on creating things can be tough on the rest of the world. Call yourself what you want to be, and the professional lifestyle and decisions will follow quickly.
  2. You want recognition without the strain. It’s easy to get recognition for work done well, but can you get this all of the time? It’s important to understand that just because you exist, this does not mean that others are going to find you. Many art forms require apprenticeship. If you want to be the best, follow someone and be an apprentice. You’ll learn more than you thought possible. Focus on spending time with those who teach, and you’ll learn sound principles and more to follow.
  3. Never stop working on being better. Those who are only amateurs focus only on doing just enough to get recognition. Those who want to be pros at what they do will keep working until they become better, regardless of what happens. You have to show up every, single day, no matter what. Try writing for at least 20 to 30 minutes each day. You’ll be surprised at how quickly your writing changes when you write daily for that time allotted.
  4. Build something, don’t jump over the puddle. Okay, I know this sounds odd. Think about this for just a moment. What if you jump in puddles to get to the other side? It’s a shortcut right? If you want to do this right, you’ll build a bridge to get to the other side. This way you do what you should do and stay clean despite the mud. You may have to write numerous articles or other pieces before you land a hot project or a book deal. It isn’t ever easy. Just ask those who have done it! Work through it and keep building your bridge to success.
  5. Failure is feedback. Wait, don’t stop reading! I get it, I get it. You are thinking, wow, he is crazy. “Failure is my feedback?” It’s true. Whether you realize it or not it matters now right now. If you did everything correctly, you would never need feedback right? Would you get the chance to have a collaborative effort if you never make a mistake? Crave feedback, always. It is what will make you a pro versus an amateur. It’s a tough pill to swallow sometimes, but failure isn’t the end of life. It is the beginning of going pro, especially when you are in a creative field. If you are a writer, failure will be your feedback and it will make you better!

It’s not easy to become the pro. It takes a lot of work and dedication to your craft. Don’t be afraid to be mocked for your work.

This is just a part of becoming successful.

If you would like to learn more about the differences between a pro or an amateur, follow the stories of any successful business owner and you’re sure to see some similarities.

Understanding Marketing Segmentation and What it Means

marketing segmentation

You have most likely heard about marketing segmentation and the huge role it plays now in email marketing. Segmentation means that you are breaking things down.

This has become extremely important for email marketing.

This is because most email lists were going to all customers. Your customer base varies. You may have only one type of individual that will respond to a specific email.

You may send a different email to another 20% of your customer base. This means that breaking down your email list into segments is effective.

You can be more effective when targeting different customers with different material.

Today, I’ll share with you why there is value in segmenting your audience, and how you can use it to increase your profits.

Why Marketing Segmentation and Email Marketing Go Hand-in-Hand

Email marketing is huge.

It is one of the most important tools you’ll use to run and maintain your business. There are numerous things you’ll notice as you begin to work on your marketing endeavors.

You’ll see the value in the following:

  • Demographics
  • Lifestyle
  • Geography
  • Behavioral traits

There are various reasons to look at these factors as vital to your campaign. Those who live in a low income area will not respond the same as someone who lives in Beverly Hills.

Those who drive a Porsche will not respond the same as someone who drives a Nissan Versa. The same is also true of those who live in different areas.

Those who live in Alaska are not going to be interested in products that are sold to folks that live in Florida. Does this make sense?

This is the point I’m trying to make.

Marketing segmentation is extremely important in order for your email marketing to be successful.  Once you begin breaking down your customers into segments, you can easily see which ones are worth marketing to.

You’ll see that one segment can do well with one newsletter each quarter, whereas your most vested customer base should be one that you market to more frequently.

So what determines which segment of your email list gets the most attention?

Here are some things to look for:

  1. Size. The size of your list does matter. When you have 5,000 in one segment and 300 in another, the list that has 5,000 names and email addresses is the one worth pursuing. The larger a segment is, the more eyes will be on the emails you send.
  2. Is there potential? When it comes to growth, what do you get? Is there an opportunity with your groups to grow them? The larger numbers may also equal what type of sharing you can get. You also need to make the discovery of where you can have a better profit margin with less work involved. This is a great motivator to work toward freedom.
  3. Is the competition fierce? What about the competition? Is it too high? Could you do the same thing in another market for more money and the same amount of work or less work? Review the marketplace before you make a final decision. Sometimes the less competitive market is the one to look at, and sometimes it isn’t. It really depends on the product or service.

There are so many things to consider when you start and build a business. Once you begin to start using these various marketing methods, what happens next?

As you focus on what works for your email marketing campaigns, focus on marketing segmentation and you’ll have more growth potential as a result.

How Your Mindset Determines Your Success

how your mindset determines your success

Do you believe that it’s vital to learn how your mindset determines your success?

Belief in yourself is the key to being successful, just as it for anyone else. Unfortunately, many struggle to understand that belief is important.

Do you believe that you can do anything?

Do you believe that all things are possible? They are, but your mindset has much to do with whether or not you can continue onto the path of success.

Today, I want to focus on how your mindset determines your success, and how you can build the business you desire if you believe in yourself and your skills.

5 Key Points on How Your Mindset Determines Your Success

There are numerous things you can do to help you keep a positive mindset.

These 5 key points here will help you understand how your mindset determines your success.

  1.  Assess the individuals you spend the greatest amount of time with. Who are you close to? Are they negative or positive? Do your closest friends have your best interest at heart? It has been said that your 5 closest friends are the sum total of what you’ve become. Are these individuals successful or living in abject poverty? Surround yourself with those who will encourage you and motivate you.
  2. Make a decision. Once you have it in your mind that you want to do something, just DECIDE that you are going to do it. Being decisive is something so many fail to do. You have to be able to make quick assessments and make decisions in order to move forward. Being decisive will change your life, and most of all it will change your level of income.
  3. Implement. Implementing what you have learned and taking action are one in the same. If you make a decision, you can certainly begin to implement what you’ve learned and you can move forward. Learn new skills along the way and implement what you learn. If you emulate someone that is successful, implement their tactics and you’ll most likely get the same results. Continue to surround yourself with positive people and a positive environment, and you’ll see how your mindset determines your success.
  4. Self-development. Developing yourself is the best thing you can do. The more you work on you, the more you’ll see results. Self-development is a lifelong commitment. Commit to investing in yourself, and attend helpful workshops and seminars when you can to aid in your growth and development in your marketplace. Continue to learn new skills and learn from new people. Be open to learning new ways of doing things. You won’t regret it!
  5. Grow and strive to improve. Last but not least, “There is always room for improvement.” Whoever said this first is wise. Growing is a continuous effort, and striving to improve is another. You should always seek ways to grow as a person, and find ways to grow your business. However, you should also strive to improve it every day. Always think about how you can improve tomorrow, this week, this month, this quarter, and this year.

There are numerous considerations to be made, but remember, “how your mindset determines your success” is through following the above five key points and making them a priority.

Why Following the Masses Isn’t Always a Good Idea

3 ways to stand out

You have probably heard that following the masses is ideal if you want to know who’s who in online marketing. There are thousands of individuals that start marketing online, but only a few really make it big.

There are many reasons for this, but the most popular one is because an individual worked hard for their endeavor. This also means that they gave it everything they possibly could.

Those who have continued success know that it isn’t easy.

As Jeffrey Hayzlett says, “They call it hard work because it’s hard.” This means sacrificing free time, quiet time, golf time, and salon time.

There isn’t anything wrong with those things, but if you are working hard to reach a goal, you’ll have to focus on meeting deadlines to get there.

So, why isn’t following the masses always a good idea?

Following the Masses is Good ONLY if they do the Right Thing

Okay. I hear ya.

It would seem like following the big crowd would mean you’re headed in the right direction.

Unfortunately, this isn’t always true. This is because NOT everyone is going to do the right thing. There are tons of folks that can follow, but not everyone is dedicated to being a stand up kind of leader.

When someone steps into a leadership position and they do the right thing, they become more attractive to others and they have a lot to offer those who join the group.

Here is what makes a leader a good person to follow:

  1. They are driven to learn more and grow more as a person.
  2. They are willing to help others.
  3. They give to others without asking for anything in return.
  4. They continue to strive for the good of the entire group.
  5. They never give up.
  6. They put God first in all things.

There are so many more things I could think of, but following the masses is only good as long as that group of people is collectively doing the right thing.

If it’s a company and they are not focused on the things I’ve listed above, it’s time to look elsewhere for someone to follow.

It’s only wise to follow if you are following true leaders. Likewise, it is only good to learn from real entrepreneurs that also do these things.

Seeking out unique marketing and sales systems is okay, but that doesn’t always mean that you’re hooking up with the most talented people or the best leadership.

There needs to be accountability in a large group, namely a company. The true is also the same for those who intend to lead or choose to position themselves as leaders.

If you want to follow someone else, it’s wise to slow down and consider who it is that you’ll be following. Don’t choose to follow someone because you think they have money or a certain degree of success.

Choose to follow them because they do the right things in order to become successful.

Who is it that you lean on to learn from? Do you follow the crowd because they seem to be cool? Are you following someone that you believe you can emulate for success on your terms?

When in doubt, always look at the list above, and make sure that you are looking at the good before you start following the masses.

How to Reach Your Buyers with Viral Marketing

Did you know that viral marketing is as simple as getting consumers to share information about your products and services?

This technique has been growing since 2008, and has changed the way companies promote their goods. While it is more customer-centric, so few companies are still not using it.

The value of digital marketing seems to be placed rather high. The problem is that many business owners do accept it, but they aren’t quite sure how to use it.

Today, I want to give you some valuable information and tips on how to start using viral marketing to put your business on the map, and keep it there!

The First Steps in Viral Marketing

Regardless of what marketing method you try, you should focus on the basic steps first. Laying the foundation for a home is the key to building a home that lasts.

The same is true of your marketing campaign.

You cannot launch a viral marketing campaign until you lay the most basic foundation to get started. Here are some simple and first steps you can take to get started.

  1. Learn everything about your target audience. Research is rather simple if you are focused. You absolutely MUST know everything about your ideal customer before you can market to them. How old are they? What type of vehicle do they drive? What zip codes do your customers reside in? These are all perfect questions to study your target audience. Once you know this information you’ll have a better idea of how to formulate your marketing campaign.
  2. Increase brand awareness. Increasing brand awareness is a great way to inject your business for success. Getting an injection of brand awareness is much needed for your business. How do your customers identify you? Are you known for your brand or for the latest sale that you ran in your store? Give your audience a way to identify with you. This should be something that they can identify with first and foremost. Focus on catering to your audience. Give them a brand they won’t forget.
  3. Engage the consumer. Your customer shouldn’t feel as though they are a stranger in a strange land. The consumer is your everything. Give them valuable information, content, and market that content. Make sure that your customer can see your content easily. Give your audience something they can digest, and something that they can share with others. This is what viral marketing is all about. It’s giving your audience what they want, and enticing them to share it with others. If you write it or film it on video, they will come. Give them a reason to fall in love with your content, and they will be hooked.
  4. Set goals before anything else. Setting goals is the most important thing you’ll do throughout the duration of your business. Be clear about what you want to get out of your campaign. No one else can do it for you. Do you want to sell more products? Do you want to drive traffic to your website? Setting goals is easy, but you have to define them, and above all, you must write them down.

There are numerous ways to draw a crowd, but you have to keep the end goal in front of you. What is it that you want most?

Write it all down, and share your ideas with those on your team. If you define a clear path for your “viral marketing”plan, you’ll be well on your way to success!
