Anything worth doing is never easy.

However, it is possible to work your own business hard, while enjoying a personal life.

Balancing work and life comes with its own challenges. It’s tough to figure out sometimes what comes first.

Is it  business or family?

What about my friends and my business?

These are the questions many ask themselves every single day. Whether or not you make an impact on your friends or your clients matters.

I’ve been reading about other entrepreneurs to see what they do, and how they manage.

How do the experts manage to do it all so seamlessly?

  1. Shani McIlwain, the founder of Practical Partners, LLC, says that it’s all about outsourcing.

You cannot do it all, and you shouldn’t attempt to. The best way to live in freedom and live the life you want while making money is to outsource.

This is where FREEDOM becomes reality.

The ability to delegate tasks is huge here. If you struggle with this, you may benefit from working with a business coach.

What else is there to consider as an entrepreneur?

2.  DeAngelo McCoy, the founder of NextLVLConsulting says that it’s about know who you are and why you do what you do.

Creating a business plan and launching it from your core values is so important,  according to DeAngelo.

McCoy believes that if you run your business from this position, you’ll take on what you know you can handle, and not overrun your own schedule.

This is why knowing what your core values are can help with balancing work and life.

That means, you get to have a personal life!

3. Sisi Rose. Okay, so this business is a bit different from most in that it’s all about relationships. However, Sisi’s business is still a business that demands time and attention.

Her business is rooted in relationships and making them thrive, so for Sisi, it’s all about relationships no matter what.

When you value your personal connections you’ll see that your priorities fall into place without having to fight to keep them in order.

4.  Tina Hunter is the founder of ME (Motivate and Empower). Tina takes her business seriously, and her purpose is to motivate and empower women.

Her goal is to motivate women, and to empower them, so focusing on those women that come to her for help are all she thinks about.

However, she values other relationships in her personal life so much, that motivating them on any level is natural for her.

She believes that if you know what you want, than getting down to it helps you do your business when it’s time for business and afterwards, you can be social.

5.  Wendy Dickinson is the founder of Ascend to Sell, LLC. Wendy believes that getting things done professionally and on a personal level is all related to renewing your mind and focusing.

If you do those two things daily you’ll have no trouble. You’ll face challenges in your business and in your personal life, so accept that. Once you do, you can work through one thing at a time.

With focus, you can hone in on what needs to be done for your business, and then for others in your life.

“Balancing work and life” is possible, but you’ll need to work on focusing and understanding what matters to you most.


Moving Forward with God on Your Side

CBN.com Once again some people will begin the countdown, 10, 9, 8… until they reach number 1 when the beautiful sparkling ball drops in Times Square and they all can say Happy New Year. Some will wonder where the time went. Others will sleep away the old year and wake up to a new one like they always do. Many will be in Church praying for God to bless them, their family, friends, and even their enemies.


However one chooses to celebrate the New Year, we should pray daily for God to bless what we do in it and forget “the list” — you know, those resolutions that we have all made in some point and time. Haven’t we failed to get them all done, forgotten them or perhaps even misplaced them? Yes, we often just dismiss them anyway entirely.

It is true that man has a plan, but God orders our steps. I did away with my list long ago, except that I try to work on the Scripture verse that says, ‘I must decrease so that He will increase in my life’ (John 3:30).

We can only reflect on some things we feel were done right to bless others and there we can find satisfaction in knowing that the Lord is pleased. There are many personal goals that all of us did not fulfill, so it is best to thank God for the positives and not dwell on the negative. We must understand that the Bible tells us to press on towards the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus. We are in a race and we can’t go back and retrieve any time lost from the previous year.

We are constantly to be moving forward, growing and doing all we can to get the message of God’s love to others. We must make sure that we are living a life that reflects Christ’s nature to attract others to Him.

So there is no list of do’s and don’ts for me. Plain and simply put, I want to live my life one day at a time, asking the Lord what He requires. I will take each day and say, ‘Lord, what is on your agenda for me today?’ If I can find out His plans on a daily basis then I won’t be disappointed at the end of the year.

Okay, I hear ya.

You’re thinking that building relationships with everyone is time-consuming, and you don’t have time for that. I’ll take it a step further and remind you that you don’t have to connect with every single person you meet on a deep level.

However, you never know what will come of a relationship and it’s only fair to give everyone you do meet a few minutes of your time.

Do you know that you can meet a new business partner at the park? You may not know it right then and there, but this has been known to happen. Here are some tips to help you think differently about the people you meet and what they could mean to you in the future.

  1. Spend quality time giving people a chance. It isn’t every day that you’ll meet someone you want to connect with long-term, but spend some quality time with people and you’ll begin to see things differently. It is important to give people a chance and get to know them.
  2. Ask them to share their story. Everyone has a story, and it’s our job to be better listeners. Listening is a lost art, and along the line somewhere, we have to know that it is vital to hear the story and take from that how it shapes that individual. It is only fair to listen and then assess how you can be a part of their lives. See the good in people and then help further that good along.
  3. Place them where they can tap into their talents. Once you choose to bring someone on board to your team, place them where they work best. What gifts and talents do they have? What are they most passionate about? Place them where they can be utilized, and where their God-given talents can shine. Placing team members in positions where they are not gifted will make them feel uncomfortable. Let them adjust and use what they know best before you cross-train them.

There are numerous ways to build relationships, but the ONLY right way is to take the time to get to know people and LISTEN to their story. Allow others to share their stories, trials, and their successes with you.

Once you know what they want out of life, you can then learn more about their goals and how far they can go. There isn’t a short cut to building relationships.

One last important thing I want to share about building long-term relationships, whether in life or in business, is this. Consider that nurturing the relationship takes time and TLC.

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye.

If you help others get what they want, you will ultimately get what you want. It is all about helping others, and if you do this, you will be a huge success with people in general.

People are necessary to do great things, and if you give them the opportunity, they will be productive and they will have much to offer you in the future.

Nurture their gifts and talents. If someone is not good, look for the good and then nurture it. There is good in everyone if you take the time to find it.

It is all about relationships, and strong relationships make for a great life.

These sites are not something your insurance company will promote, nor do they champion their cause. Insurance companies are not obligated to share information with you regarding any additional benefits unless you ask.

Outside services are something you’ll also have to look for on your own. The information I came across pertains to those who need prescription drugs within the United States, and it is also pertinent information for anyone that gets prescriptions on a regular basis.

Today, I’ll share the prescription discount sites that are rated as the top sources for discounts, and how you can use them to save your hard earned money.

There are numerous prescription discount sites out there, but it’s tough to know what is right for you. Here are some of the top sites that made my list in my own personal research and chatting with friends and family about their own sources.

  1. GoodRx. This is a great one, and it seems most well-known pharmacies are encouraging their patients to use this site. The great thing about this particular tool is that anyone can use it. Those who have insurance probably won’t get much use of it unless they have a prescription that isn’t covered by their policy. However, once you are in a pharmacies system, this acts like insurance. Your prescriptions are run through every time like a primary policy, and you’ll get a good savings without health insurance. Lean on this like it’s your best friend if you need help. Veterans can use it too.
  2. Blink Health. This is another good site, and this is also used by some of the top pharmacies in the country. One of the added benefits is that you get a $5 off coupon to start. All you have to do is input your email address and they’ll send you the coupon. Their selling point is that they have negotiated pricing on over 15,000 medications, and they don’t have a membership fee either. It’s very similar to GoodRx, but it’s wise to try out both and see which one gives you the better benefit. They boast a 95% savings on most prescriptions.
  3. Discount Drug Network. Another great site, but they only market an 85% discount on prescriptions. This is lower but they carry more options. They also cover prescriptions for pets, and they offer online support and support by phone.

There are so many more sites to review, but these are the top three in talking with folks I know and by researching online. Talk to your pharmacist first, and talk to your doctor too. It’s always good to get wise counsel on prescription drug sites.

What the Benghazi Committee Wants You to Know

The Benghazi Committee is a hot topic right now, and what’s more hot is the report that followed. At the end of the day, most folks just want to know whether or not the blame lies on Hillary Clinton or someone else. Is there just one and ONLY one person to blame?

The 800 page report is just one piece of the puzzle, but so many were hoping to get clear cut facts. When the report was released, statements were released that new information had been discovered, but there was no direct tie to the mistakes or blame of Hillary Clinton’s decisions, or lack thereof.

The kicker, is that interviews are still taking place, and above all, there is a man that was called in for an interview that made a social post about Hillary. The post used a hashtag like this, “#ifyouvoteforhillaryouarebeyondstupid”.

What’s in it for Hillary? Furthermore, the question should be, “What’s in it for Americans?” Here are a few things you should know about the Benghazi Committee and what they intend to do now.

An Interesting Interview with the Benghazi Committee

One of the most interesting interviews to come to light is the interview with an Air Force mechanic. This mechanic made a statement on his personal Facebook page, regarding timing of help arriving in Benghazi.

The statement referred to the fact that planes could have left from his base in Europe, in order to arrive in time to assist in Benghazi. This is significant, simply because the men refer to hoping for a “gunship” in the book, but they weren’t really looking for men on the ground.

The Benghazi Committee has now stated that the report can easily be amended at any time, as long as those witnesses are agreeable to come forward with viable testimonies. At a time when Americans have become fearful of Isis, it is more important than ever that these testimonies are made public.

Here are some potential issues regarding any interviews that may take place.

  1. The Department of Defense (DOD), is not allowed to continue to delay those interviews from taking place.
  2. Once these interviews take place, the transcripts will be provided. This is great news, especially for those who are seeking further answers. Family members of those who died as a result of the attack need to know what happened, and are hoping to find some solace with the final outcome of the report. (This could take decades in literal terms).
  3. Trey Gowdy, the Chairman of the Benghazi Committee, is determined to see this report through, as well as a better overall outcome. Answers to all questions are desired, but it’s a matter of how quickly those can all be answered.
  4. Democrats will continue to state that Republicans are addicted to the Benghazi Report for political gain, although we know that the families ultimately need and want answers regardless of party.

There are so many things that could be said about this situation and the tragedy ensued. I wasn’t there, but I served in the military for 25 years. I can assure you that the goal of the Benghazi Committee is to get answers and clear the air for the peace of loved ones who are devastated.

What Giving Really Means

Do you know what giving really means? If you were to look at the definition, you would see that it means “to freely transfer something to someone”.

Have you ever given something to someone else that had sentimental value? Whether you or providing for someone, or you are giving them a gift, giving is such a beautiful thing.

It seems that giving brings so much joy, and the more you give, the more you begin to see how God feels about all of His children.

Do you know the joy of giving to someone else? There are many ways to illustrate the true joy of giving, and it’s important to understand what it really means to give.

What Giving Really Means for Christians

The greatest gift that any of us as Christians have ever received is the gift of God giving us His one and only Son to die for us on the cross.

Giving us life was easy to do, but giving up His only Son was not easy at all. What giving really means is sacrifice, love, and a passion for the individual that is on the receiving end.

This is the greatest example I can think of, but here are some things you should remember when you plan to give to someone else.

  1. Give from the heart. Giving from the heart is important, and it’s meaningful. It’s vital that you give from the heart, and that you have no reservation about giving. The intention is not to get anything in return, but rather to give with a true joy about the situation.
  2. Give to help others in need. There are tons of folks that could use a helping hand, and oftentimes this isn’t just financial. Giving of your money is great, but giving of your time is valuable too. Does your elderly neighbor need help with the laundry? Could they use a lift to the grocery store? There are hundreds of folks around you that could use your help. Just seek them out, and when given the opportunity, make the most of it.
  3. Give regularly. One of the reasons God highlights giving in His Word is because He wants us to be selfless. God desires that we are charitable to others. Giving should be a state of mind. Always be looking for ways in which you can give of your time, talents, finances, and more.
  4. Giving isn’t just for the church. Oftentimes, people confuse giving with the church. Giving of your tithe is important, but as I mention above, it’s important to put that to use in your personal life. There may be many folks around you that are unsaved, and you could be the only Jesus they ever see. Give daily.

Giving is a beautiful act of love and kindness, and it’s one that is in short supply today. Serving others brings tremendous rewards and joy.

Teach your children about what giving really means, so that they can see what life is all about.

Why Leadership Means Servant Leadership

Did you know that leadership means servant leadership?

Leaders are those who serve, and they serve those who serve others. Leaders aren’t just those who have titles, and they don’t try to make themselves look superior to others.

The greatest leaders are those who are serving others. Little do they know that they impact the lives of those around them in various ways. Those who lead often impact the lives of those around them without even thinking about how they do this.

Those who work for them and alongside them have all come to see just how remarkable they truly are in how they approach serving others.

Today, I’m going to share with you why servant leadership is the very foundation for all leadership, and how you can impact others tremendously.


What is Servant Leadership and Why is it the Foundation for All Leadership?

Have you ever heard about the book entitled, Servant Leadership? It is still one of the top selling books today in business, but it’s still not being put into practice as it should be.

Take a look around at the companies that struggle.

Both large and small businesses are both bleeding out the eyeballs financially, and all because they fail to see how it all went wrong. When you stop serving people they stop buying from you.

It’s. That. Simple.

When you serve people you will never go out of business, and it’s not always easy either. You may not agree with those whom you serve, but when you serve them, they are more likely to come around to your way of thinking.

This type of leadership also includes influence, which is something I’m focusing on right now in addition to my marketing topics and leadership. Here are three ways in which you can impact those around you more than you think.



  1. Leaders work hard, there is no way to dispute that. As Jeffrey Hayzlett says, “they call it hard work because it’s hard work.” Leaders don’t look for ways around things but rather they look for ways to work through things. When you expect others to work hard and you don’t, they will no longer look to you as a leader, and they certainly won’t look to you for answers.
  2. Teaching others is imperative, and if you don’t teach them how can you expect them to help you or work alongside you? Share the valuable knowledge that you have with them, and don’t fail to answer their questions. Make time for your team, and as you continue to train them and teach them, you’ll see them continue to develop their skills and work hard just as you set the example.
  3. Teaching and leading is just a small part of this. When you teach, always make sure that you make resources available to those you teach. Without resources and the right tools, these individuals cannot possibly get to where you are. Without tools you can’t build a house or repair one. Am I right? Always provide the tools and resources to equip your team to do what is necessary.

Conflict comes up in every business and relationship, but the importance of conflict management has been undermined for far too long.

It’s the mediation and careful process of getting everyone that is part of a conflict to share their feelings. This can be done in several ways.

  1. A meeting with all employees or managers involved. It’s important that everyone shares their point-of-view on what happened. Everyone views things differently, but until you hear what others think, you won’t be able to work through the conflict and clear the air. Always get everyone involved together and around the table.
  2. Accountability. It’s important that once you have the first meeting with the other person or individuals involved, that you discuss having an accountability partner. One of the essentials of being a leader is to be able to recognize your strengths and your weaknesses too. If you can’t be honest with yourself, your critics will be ten times harder on you. When you make it a point to hold yourself accountable, you’ll grow as a person and as a leader.
  3. Meet regularly. One of the ways to keep the peace is to meet on a regular basis. It’s important to continue to work through the issues, and to make sure that every sore point is out in the open. If one team member is struggling to see how change is being made, it’s important that the other team members can speak their peace. Meeting on a regular basis is vital to build morale and comradery.

Conflict is healthy, but it must be handled professionally and in a peaceful manner. Everyone needs to work together to bring all projects to fruition for the good of the company rather than the individual.

  2. Always say “thank you”. Whether or not you realize it, people appreciate your thanks when they’ve done something for you. When someone does something to help you, make sure that you thank them. It’s the right to do, and it shows them that you are being respectful to them.
  3. Don’t engage in gossip. Gossip is wrong, but it’s also dangerous and hurtful to others. You could potentially share information that is not completely truthful and very hurtful to someone else. Would you appreciate it if someone were gossiping about you?
  4. Be diplomatic when possible! When something goes wrong, it doesn’t help if you blow up in anger. The best thing you can do is be diplomatic about the situation. Take the time to hear people out, and think before you speak. You have a lot to lose if you are in a position of authority, and you also have a lot to lose if you ruin your Christian testimony too.
  5. Always do your absolute best. No matter who you are or what you do, you should always do your best. As Christians, we should not be weary in well doing. God has called us to a higher level of living, and it’s our job to do our very best for Him. Never slack off, because not doing your best is an affront to God.

There are so many important things to think about, but most of all God wants us to influence others positively.

  5. Google trends are a MUST! Did you know that Google Trends show that the company is being researched? This doesn’t necessarily mean that the company itself is being researched, but that the products or services the company offer are being researched over the course of the last 12 months.

Now that you know the factors that play a part in this, what are the top companies in network marketing?

5 Top Network Marketing Companies

There is a list out there of the top 25 but I figured I would give you the top 5, and from there you can research this further as you have time.

  1. They have been around for 53 years, and they have an Alexa rating of 8,556. While the Google page rank sits at a 6, keep in mind that new companies get more attention.
  2. This company is a wellness company, and they have been around for 27 years. With a page rank of 5, and an Alexa rating of almost 11,000, this company gets a lot of press. More and more folks are searching for information on wellness, and Melaleuca offers high grade products.
  3. This company has been around for 20 years, and they too offer wellness products. With a page rank of 6 in Google and an Alexa rating of over 12,000, USANA is still getting plenty of visitors to their website.
  4. Nu Skin. Healthy skin is in as Nu Skin ranks as one of the top network marketing companies. A lot of this may have to do with what many refer to as reasonably priced products from the standpoint of retail, but they have been around for 28 years, and they have a page rank in Google of 6.
  5. Last but not least, Isagenix has been around 10 years, and they have a page rank of 3 in Google. This is great news, and they have an Alexa rating of just over 15,500. This isn’t too shabby for a newer company that is up against the others with more than 20 years in existence.

There isn’t any guesswork to the top 5, but you’ll see that generally the companies that offer health and nutrition products are going to get a lot of press and high online searches.
